Do you know about Cold Goa?

Have you ever heard about Lyø Escape? I guess not, simply because it's one of the best-kept secrets of Denmark. In two words, Lyø Escape can be described as "Cold Goa." The reference is to the town of Goa on the southwestern coast of India, a renowned watersports Mecca also featuring a wide range of seafood, great nature experiences, and a party-till-you-drop culture.

The same things are featured on Lyø Escape 5 days after Garmin Round Denmark Race and 12 days before Vegvisir Race Nyborg. Don't miss the chance to explore this event.

Lyø Escape welcomes sailors and watersports lovers in cruise mode on loaded boats with crews of friends and families. They can spend the days from Friday, August 18, to Sunday, August 20, trying out watersports, enjoying delicious food, and experiencing live music both outdoors and indoors. The main day is Saturday, August 19. For sailors, this day offers two short races, followed by a surprise pop-up event on the pier, a dinner, and lots of live music. You can read more about the short-long-distance race (maximum of around 20 NM) followed by the reverse handicap sprint race in the lagoon of Lyø. If you or someone from your crew would rather try out other watersports, you can do so as well. It will be possible to be introduced to kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, coastal rowing, open water swimming, and, if the wind allows, even kite surfing.

"Whether you a Vegvisir Racer in pre-race mode or a Round Denmark Racer who needs some cool post race ambience Lyø Escape should be on your bucket list," says Stefan Severin X-99 Oxygenia.

The entry fee is 100 € per person. Kids younger than 12 years old 12 € each. If you come to Lyø in your own boat, two nights (August 18 and 19) are included in the registration fee. Also included are race management, a pier surprise, a meal on Saturday, August 19, in the evening, and full access to the music festival. And don't forget, if someone from your crew wishes to switch sail racing with a watersports pass, they can do so without additional cost.

If you, your friends or family come to the island by ferry to participate in either the music festival, the watersports festival, or both, tickets are available at 70 euros per person per event. Included is a campground for camping, toilets, and showers – bring your own tent, sleeping bag, and toothbrush.
